Ever wondered what fusing and slumping really means and
wanted to learn the techniques behind it ??
Well here's your chance.
Here at Tempsford stained glass we now offer a taster course for absolute
beginners no glass cutting experience required!!
We will cover working with the following little glass gems:
Frits - Glass powders
Stringers - Long thin glass rods
Dichroic glass - Glass coated with a metallic oxide
Standard fusing glasses, Bullesye and Uroboros 90 c.o.e.
We will cover all the basics in glass fusing such as kiln prep, kiln
programming, kiln safety, firing schedules
project design, glass compatibility and much, much more.
Courses are held on a Tuesdays and Sundays 10.00am - 4.30pm with a
maximum class size of three students. This allows
plenty of tuition and the chance to ask as many questions as you like !!
We take a half hour for lunch break and you can either bring your own and
eat by the picturesque river or
choose one of the two lovely pubs both within walking distance from our
studio.
Upon course completion all students will be eligible for a 5% discount on
any kiln ( excluding special offer kilns)
You can expect to make a selection of dichroic pieces, four
coasters, a large bowl ( 12" ) or two small ones if preferred.
The smaller pieces will be fired and finished on the day and any unfinished
pieces or unfired pieces
will be sent on to you post free, what more could you want from our
course!!!
