	Pattern shears are a bit like scissors, only, they have three blades. The centre blades removes a piece of paper about 1mm wide from your cartoon. This should approximate the width of the heart of the lead. They work well. Of course, you could always tape two single edged razor blades together, with a bit of packing in between. I think those days are gone, however.
