The magazine states quite clearly on the front cover that it's "FREE". Well, maybe it is, in the USA, but I can assure you all, I have to pay for it, and then I have to pay to have it shipped, and then I have to pay to have it sent to you. So, if you object to having to pay £1.00 for a great load of information you could get for free if only you lived in America, maybe you should pass on this.

There's a questions and answers for beginners only section, and a Readers Hints page. Probably a few hints from Readers' Wives also.. There's a readers' gallery, featuring readers' projects and pics of themselves WITH their projects. ( Hey! it COULD BE YOU!)

New products are reviewed, you get advance information on what's happening in the wonderfull world of Stained Glass. Or more technically correct... leaded glass. The vast majority of glass work these days is not stained...but it's generally lumped together under the umbrella of Stained Glass. However, I digress, as usual. I opened this book, and immediately knew it was a CKE publication. Carolyne Kyle has a knack for selecting up and coming artists, and this is a selection of patterns by Leslie Gibbs. If you like exotic birds, (and show me a man who doesn't.) ..parrots, Bird of Paradise plants, etc, you could well use this as a reference.

I actually live with a parrot, but if someone asked me , off the beat, to draw him, he'd probably wind up looking like a Bald Eagle, or My Old Mum. With this book to hand... you could avoid that sort of thing.

Not a bad book, if a bit specialised.

Take 9 patterns and adapt each one 9 times, and you've got yourself 81 plus projects in this Wardell publication. Skill leverl is beginner to advanced, so there's something for everyone to tackle.... all the projects, are, of course, cat flavoured.

Good value for money, this book. If you like catty things. Or you want to sell things to catty people.... and there are a few around... :-)
